The Artichoke Trail: A Guide to Vegetarian Restaurants, Organic Food Stores, and Farmers' Markets in the US

Author Biography

James Bernard Frost was born and raised in a meat-and-potatoes suburb of Dallas, Texas. A college course in World Geography led him to the conclusion that a plant-based diet would become a global necessity in the years to come. Although he has yet to become a full-fledged vegetarian, Jim's love of innovative, ecologically-sensitive cooking led him to hit the road in search of quality meatless cuisine. These discoveries are outlined in his upcoming book,The Artichoke Trail.

After many travels, Jim settled down in San Francisco, where he lives, works and eats today.

P.S. Jim realizes that he looks pretty silly putting a very large artichoke into a very small wheelbarrow. The photograph to the left was taken in front of a billboard just south of Castroville, CA, a town that claims to be the Artichoke Capital of the World.
